Convergence Center for Policy Resolution is seeking a research intern on its Re-imagining Education Project for the Spring 2015 semester. Convergence’s mission is to convene people and groups with conflicting views to build trust, identify solutions, and form alliances for action on critical national issues. The Re-imagining Education Project convened a group of 30 influential education leaders and thinkers for an 18-month process to re-imagine education. As of October 2014, the stakeholders created a new vision for learner-centered learning and are now actively engaged in realizing that vision. Responsibilities: As an integral member of the team, the research intern will become very familiar with the Re-imagining Education Project, including its trajectory and goals. He or she will both research assigned topics and provide input on other research topics that would advance the project. The research intern will be expected to conduct thorough research and to present completed research in a clear, organized, and concise way. Qualifications: A focus or background in education practice and/or policy is strongly preferred. The position requires a self-starter with excellent interpersonal, research, and communications skills. Applicants should be passionate and open-minded about the issues associated with education. In addition, interns should: -Be flexible with regard to work assignments -Work well individually and with others -Have a high command of written and spoken English -Be fluent with Word, Excel, and online communication vehicles Applicants must be able to commit 20 hours-per-week. Preference will be given to applicants who are able to work Full Time.
