Accounting and Finance Internship – Risk Track:
As part of the broader Accounting and Finance Internship program, interns in the risk track will get placed on one of our Trade Product Control or Risk Management Group teams. During the internship program interns will gain exposure to commodity markets, and have the opportunity learn about market risk and approaches used to measure and monitor it. Interns will also contribute to standardization and optimization of processes and new solutions to enhance automation and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
As an Accounting and Finance – Risk Track Intern, you may have the opportunity to:
• Assess and communicate information regarding business risks with functions across the organization.
• Participate in developing and implementing controls and cost-effective approaches to minimize the organization’s risks, adhering to guidelines set by compliance operations.
• Contribute to estimating the potential financial consequences of an occurring loss.
• Daily, weekly, or monthly tasks may include daily risk reporting, scenario analysis, limit management/extensions, and/or process improvements, applying risk management best practices where applicable.
• Complete commodity and foreign exchange position reporting and reconciliation in collaboration with key stakeholders, and ensure any significant differences are resolved and communicated appropriately.
• Monitor commodity and foreign exchange exposure and complete all financial reporting within deadlines and compare against limits, escalate breaches of limits and get resolution of breach in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Manage reports and reconcile trading profit and loss by line of impact with key stakeholders.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Complete projects throughout the summer and report-out on your accomplishments through a final internship capstone presentation to business leaders, supervisors, and colleagues at the end of your internship.
• With comprehensive learning resources at your disposal, you can take your learning in any direction.

• Throughout the internship, interns and co-ops are invited to participate in events that will give exposure to leadership, provide development opportunities, and offer the ability to network with cross-functional interns/co-ops across the U.S.
• Internships are typically 12 weeks in duration and are paid hourly for time worked.
• Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work.
• Interns who demonstrate outstanding performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered an internship, co-op or Full Time position to return the following year.

• Candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate (if needed) for an internship opportunity to either Minneapolis, MN or Wichita, KS.
• Interns may work out of our corporate office in Wayzata, MN or Wichita, KS. A specific location will be shared at time of offer.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or a related degree.
• Graduating between December 2024 and June 2025, and be available for Full Time employment upon graduation.
• Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa, or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
• Geographically flexible and willing to relocate for an internship opportunity to one of our internship locations in either Minneapolis, MN or Wichita, KS.
• Able to complete a 12-week internship in the summer (May/June – August 2024).
• Intermediate level proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures.
• Possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher based off a 4.0 scale.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Strong financial acumen.
• Significant quantitative and analytical capability.
• Programming experience, preferably Python.
• Proficiency in a second language.
• Experience with budgeting, investment analysis, economic profit concepts and/or strategic planning concepts.
• Exposure to financial modeling, scenario planning, and reporting.
• Experience with SAP.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. – Microsoft Power BI, Tableau)
