The Colorado State University First Generation Award is awarded to students who demonstrate financial need, are admitted by March 1, have parents who did not receive bachelor’s degrees, and who meet all other eligibility criteria. The selection process is very competitive and there are a limited number of awards available. Applications open on October 1st and the deadline to apply is March 1st. Please note the Award essay will not be available until December 1.
To be eligible for the Colorado State University First Generation Award, applicants must: be a first generation student; be a newly admitted student in a degree program at Colorado State University-Fort Collins campus by March 1st and enroll at CSU the following summer or fall; demonstrate financial need; be a Colorado resident or be classified as an in-state resident; be a US citizen or an eligible noncitizen; be enrolled Full Time (must be taking at least 12 credits per semester); and not have yet earned a bachelor’s degree.
