To be eligible for the Maestro Cares Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship, applicants must: be of Latino origin; be between the ages of 17-24 as of the application deadline date; show proof of acceptance or enrollment as current undergraduate student at an accredited university within the United States, Puerto Rico or Latin America, and be enrolled Full Time; have a 3.0 GPA; and show proof of involvement in community service or volunteering in the community. Preference will be given to applicants with verified financial need, who demonstrate compelling interest in a professional career and with previous experience in community service work empowering others in their specific fields and community.
Besides completing the application, you must also submit: your most recent transcript; two academic or professional letters of recommendation; proof of past/current community service or volunteer work (for example, letters of recognition, photographs, record of hours served, or verification letter issued by the organization); and a personal statement of no more than 500 words (one single-spaced page) discussing your background and personal/academic goals.
