Internship/Fellowship
ReNew Democracy Foundation Fellowship
Opportunity Details
The future of our democracy and the economy it shapes depend on enacting bold policies
that reflect the input and perspective of the diversity of our communities. Unfortunately, too many qualified, potential leaders are blocked by systemic inequities from ever having the chance to work in the halls of Congress. The ReNew Democracy Foundation seeks to open doors for a diversity of new voices from across the country who want to make a difference in pragmatic, solutions-oriented, center-left congressional offices by supporting these new and current leaders with educational development opportunities, mentorship and professional networking through the inaugural ReNew Democracy Fellowship.
ReNew Democracy Fellows will work side-by-side with Members and staff for nine months on legislative initiatives, meeting with stakeholders, conducting research, and developing expertise in specialized policy areas. They will also attend professional and personal development programming, including policy development, coalition building, and policy administration. Each Fellowship recipient will focus on a key issue area, to be determined by the hosting office, such as housing, education, labor, and health. Up to five fellows will be placed in a U.S. House of Representatives office from September 9, 2024 to June 6, 2025. For nine months, Fellows will receive a $5,000 monthly stipend, a $300 monthly health care stipend, a $200 monthly transit stipend, and a relocation assistance budget. Applications are due April 15, 2024.
To apply, applicants must:
- Be lawfully authorized to work full-time without restriction for any U.S. employer. ReNew Democracy is unable to sponsor Fellows for temporary visas.
