Opportunity Details
Generation Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping teen parents become College graduates by providing teen parents attending College in the DC metro region with one-on-one mentoring support, case management, and tuition assistance. The Program Intern is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and occasionally evaluation of programs and activities based on the needs of Generation Hope Scholars and their families, Sponsors, staff, and volunteers. The Program Intern works in coordination with the Program Manager and provides support to Generation Hope staff. The Program Intern will also have the opportunity to design and implement a project of his/her choosing—this could range from creating new resources for our Scholars to designing elements of training, etc. Program Interns will work a flexible schedule partially in the office and partially through tele-work. Candidates must be able to work at least 20 hours weekly; candidates who can work 30 hours weekly are preferred. Start and end dates are flexible; ideal candidates will be available January-late May.
*Duties* • Oversee logistical details related to March Field Trip, April in-service training, and other events as needed • Assist with maintaining Scholar/Sponsor records and database files • Assist with receiving and logging 2015 Sponsor and Scholar applications • Assist with marketing and communicating Generation Hope Scholar Program to community • Track program participation and prepare reports as necessary • Assist with organizing College readiness workshops and other outreach events • Attend all weekly staff meetings and evening meetings where appropriate • Work with Volunteer Coordinator to arrange Childcare Volunteers to ensure that daycare services are being provided during Generation Hope events • Assist with blogging and social media
