Internship/Fellowship
The Douglass-O’Connell Global Internship
Opportunity Details
The Douglass-O’Connell Global Internship is a fully sponsored eight-week summer program in Dublin, Ireland that combines an immersive work placement with an academic internship course. Funded by CIEE, the Government of Ireland, the African American Irish Diaspora Network, and the John & Lillian Miles Lewis Foundation, the program selects ten outstanding students each year. Participants are chosen for their demonstrated interest in gaining professional experience in Ireland, as well as their commitment to equality, entrepreneurship, advocacy, and social justice inspired by Frederick Douglass and Daniel O’Connell. Interns are expected to fully engage in coursework, actively participate in their placements, and contribute to program activities that foster cross-cultural understanding and leadership.
