Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund
Opportunity Details
Travis Scott’s Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund awards graduating seniors who will attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and who may be experiencing financial hardship during senior year. We strongly urge seniors to apply for – and share – this special scholarship opportunity with any and all qualifying HBCU seniors. Eligible applicants must have a 3.5 GPA or higher, and planning to graduate in the spring. Applicants must submit a 2-minute video or 500-word personal essay (and photo) explaining why they would be a good candidate for this scholarship opportunity, perhaps by discussing the impact financial hardships have had on their education goals and share their future career plans after graduation. Proof of GPA is also required.
This scholarship provides financial support to students and families towards final tuition fees, in order for as many students as possible to graduate and receive their College diplomas. In previous years, all 38 HBCUs were represented among the scholarship recipients, which was named after Travis Scott’s grandfather for his dedication toward Black academic excellence. The Cactus Jack Foundation’s mission is to empower and enrich the lives of youth by providing access to education and creative resources to ensure long-term success. The foundation believes the youth should not be prevented from attaining their lifetime goal and is committed to extending educational opportunities to all, regardless of their circumstances to achieve their dreams.
